WHY OUTOFTHELAB?

Because research should live in the real world, not stay trapped in laboratories.

Outofthelab was born from the idea that insights and innovation happen when you step outside the boundaries of traditional research institutes and dive directly into real experiences.

This is what I did personally, getting my hands on the experience, to regenerate myself and to think of a different way of designing research and marketing activities.

MARKET RESEARCH

with the growing complexity, understanding needs and motivations under the behaviours is always more and more important:

  • Design research
  • Contact strategy
  • Advanced analysis
  • Insights and actions

DATA ENRICHMENT

companies have a lot of data, internal and external, but often the quality is low and the meaning is poor:

  • Quality check
  • Source strategy
  • Segmentation
  • Enrichment program

DIRECT MARKETING

with enriched and meaningful data the companies could activating proprietary and governable tools of communication (not black box services):

  • Goals definition
  • Targeting
  • Communication plan
  • Testing
  • Performance optimization

RELATIONSHIP ALGORITHMS

under the relations (e.g. satisfaction of customers, employees, partners, etc.) it's necessary to measure correctly the engagement level between the parts:

  • Discriminant analysis
  • Mapping
  • Clustering
  • Action plan

AI for market research

Is AI the new frontier for market research?
Can digital twins or synthetic respondents truly replace traditional fieldwork?
The honest answer: it depends.

  • Large Language Models (LLMs) are rapidly transforming our industry, this is arguably the most significant breakthrough since online data collection (CAWI). If you recall the early skepticism around online surveys, you remember how many validation studies it took to compare CAWI to CATI, PAPI, and CAPI. Fast forward twenty years, and online panels are now the backbone of market research.

  • Today, using LLMs in research marks another leap forward. These tools can operate like expert researcher and analyst, tapping into vast knowledge bases and delivering rapid insights on demand. The potential is huge.

  • However, these models are only as good as the information they’re trained on. Poor or misleading data leads to convincing but unreliable results, a risk we can’t afford.

That’s why at Outofthelab, we use LLMs to enhance our research, not to replace proven methods, but to work alongside them.

We always verify sources and complement AI-driven insight with real survey data, ensuring that every answer is grounded in genuine fieldwork and validated expertise.
